Three fundamental aspects are tackled: freedom, security and privacy, all ítems analized in this panel in the light of the present biometric technique.

We are witnessing new forms of automatic identification of individuals. Nowadays the facial recognition technology is not only used at the fight against crime, the Passport fraud and to support the public order; but also to accelerate the picture identification process for buddies and friends published at social networks.

More and more companies, with different purposes, are investing in technologies for the facial recognition, but few is heard about measures for user security and protection of privacy.

Which role plays the duty of informing and the obtainment of consent of this identification system?

Once again biometrics is confronting us with three fundamental aspects: freedom, security and privacy, all ítems analyzed in this panel in the light of the present biometric technique.
